Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This policy explains what data Korrella collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers the films you bring us, the analytics on demo links, and, above all, the voice data at the heart of our consent model.

Who we are

Korrella provides Nollywood-tuned localization: subtitling, hybrid AI and human dubbing with consent-licensed voices, and delivery to streaming platforms and YouTube. In this policy, “Korrella”, “we”, and “us” mean Korrella and its operators. You can reach us any time at hello@korrella.com.

We act as a data controller for the accounts we hold and the marketing we send, and as a data processor for the film content and voice samples you entrust to us, which we handle on your instructions to produce and deliver your localization.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your name, email, workspace or company name, and role. If you sign in through a third party, we receive the basic profile that provider shares.
  • Project content. The films, audio, subtitle files, and public video links you upload or point us to, plus the transcripts, translations, and dubbed audio we generate from them.
  • Voice samples. Where a voice owner licenses their voice, the recordings used to build a voice model, and the consent records that authorize it. See Voice data and consent.
  • Usage and demo analytics. When you or a recipient opens a demo link we host, we record events such as opened, played, and how far the video was watched, so we and the sender can see whether a demo landed. This is tied to the link, not to a named individual.
  • Payment details. Billing contact and plan. Card and bank numbers are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Support and correspondence. The messages you send us and our replies.

How we use it

  • To run the localization pipeline: denoise, transcribe, translate, review, dub, and package your films.
  • To deliver finished tracks to you and, where you ask, to the platforms you nominate.
  • To calculate and pay voice-owner royalties, and to produce the statements behind them.
  • To operate the append-only audit trail that lets both producers and voice owners see what happened.
  • To provide support, secure the service, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
  • To send you service messages, and, only with a lawful basis, occasional product updates you can opt out of.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your films or voice samples to train general-purpose AI models. See AI processing for the narrow, purpose-built exception.

Voice data and consent

A person’s voice is their identity, and it is the single most sensitive category of data we hold. Our model is built around explicit, revocable consent:

  • Consent first. We create a voice model only when the voice owner has granted consent for a defined scope. Every consent, change, and withdrawal is written to an append-only audit trail.
  • Per-owner encryption. Voice samples are encrypted with keys scoped to the individual owner, not pooled across customers.
  • Scoped use only. A licensed voice is used only for the deployments its owner agreed to. It is never scraped, never resold, and never used to train a general model.
  • Withdrawal and deletion. A voice owner can withdraw consent and request deletion of their voice model. We stop new deployments and delete the model and samples, subject to records we must keep for legal and royalty-accounting reasons.
  • Royalties. Where a licensed voice earns a royalty, we keep the usage and payment records needed to calculate and evidence it, visible to the owner in their portal.

Film content and security

Much of what you share is unreleased and commercially sensitive, so we build to the standard the industry expects:

  • Content is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Pre-release material is handled on a need-to-know basis and can be forensically watermarked so any leak traces back to its source.
  • Wherever possible we work from your public video, so your master never has to change hands.
  • Access is logged. The same audit trail is visible to producer-side and voice-owner-side users.

No system is perfectly secure, but we align our handling of pre-release content with recognized industry security practices for media production.

AI processing

Producing a localization means running your content through AI models: to transcribe speech, translate and culturally adapt lines, and synthesize dubbed audio. We use reputable model and infrastructure providers to do this, under agreements that restrict them to processing on our instructions.

We select providers that do not train their general models on the content we send through their APIs. Your films and voice samples are processed to produce your deliverable, not to improve someone else’s model.

When we share data

  • Service providers. Cloud hosting and storage, AI model and speech providers, a payment processor, and communication tools, each bound to handle data only for us.
  • Platforms you nominate. When you ask us to deliver a track, we send the finished file to the platform you choose. For YouTube multi-language audio, we hand you the finished French track and you upload it; we never touch your login.
  • Voice owners. The audit trail and royalty statements relevant to a voice owner are visible to that owner.
  • Legal. Where we must, to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.
  • Business transfer. If Korrella is involved in a merger or acquisition, data may transfer as part of that deal, under the protections of this policy.

Retention and deletion

We keep project content for as long as your account is active and you need it, and then delete or anonymize it on request or after a reasonable wind-down period. Audit and royalty records are kept longer where law or accounting requires. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, see Your rights.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under Nigeria’s NDPR and the EU/UK GDPR, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, port it, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@korrella.com. We will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

International transfers

We operate across borders, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including for cloud hosting and AI processing. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it.

Cookies

We use the minimum cookies needed to keep you signed in and to run the site, plus limited analytics to understand how the product and our demo links are used. We do not use advertising trackers. You can control cookies through your browser.

Children

Korrella is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you directly. Continuing to use Korrella after a change means you accept the updated policy.
